For millenia, the sky and the heavens have been a source of inspiration and wonder for humanity. When gazing at a star-filled sky, we realize how small we are, while at the same time experiencing ourselves as connected to the vastness of the Universe (Uni-verse=one song or tone.) Many gods and goddesses have been assigned to the sky, and the ancients aligned their sacred monuments with the movements of the stars, sun, and moon. This is because we intuitively know that we have a reciprocal relationship with the Universe. On a practical level, stars have long been navigational guides, the moon affects the tides, the Earth's position in relation to the sun determines our seasons, and the systems of astronomy and astrology continue to evolve. The Skye Institute celebrates diversity, and does not discriminate on the basis of anything. We work to create a safe and welcoming environment for all participants in our programs, and expect participants to co-create this atmospere with us by being respectful of others. Nature has shown us that diversity supports a healthy eco-system. |
The Mission of the Skye Institute is manifold:
to work in cooperation with other private, governmental, and religious organizations to better serve the populations we each support, including outreach programs & fundraisers. Ready to write that book? |
